Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 14, 2026

krowd, Inc. ("krowd," "we," "us," or "our") operates the krowdiq.com platform and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, information generated through your use of the Service, and in some cases information from third-party sources.

Account and profile information. When you create a krowd account we collect your name, email address, password, and optionally a profile photo and organization name. If you sign up through a third-party authentication provider (such as Google), we receive the information that provider makes available to us.

Event data. When you create events on the platform we collect the content you submit — event titles, descriptions, dates, locations, custom registration fields, and any attendee-facing materials you upload. When attendees register for your events we collect the information they provide in response to your registration forms, which may include names, email addresses, phone numbers, dietary preferences, company affiliations, and any other fields you configure.

Payment information. Billing and payment transactions are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers. We receive and retain transaction metadata such as the last four digits of a card, billing name, billing address, and transaction IDs in order to manage your subscription and provide receipts.

Usage and device information. We automatically collect certain information when you access the Service, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, features used, and timestamps of activity. We may also collect device identifiers and crash-reporting data to help us diagnose problems and improve the platform.

Communications. If you contact us for support or send us feedback, we retain those communications and any personal information included in them. We also retain records of transactional and marketing emails we send you.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Providing and improving the Service. We use your information to operate the platform, authenticate your account, process transactions, send transactional notifications (such as registration confirmations and billing receipts), and respond to support requests. We also use aggregated and de-identified data to understand how organizers and attendees use krowd so we can make the product better.

Email communications. We send you service-related emails such as account verification, password resets, and subscription status updates. With your consent, or where permitted by applicable law, we may also send you product news, tips, and promotional content. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any such message or by adjusting your notification settings in your account dashboard.

Analytics and product development. We analyze usage patterns to understand which features are most valuable, identify friction in organizer and attendee workflows, and prioritize future development. This analysis is conducted on aggregated or pseudonymized data wherever possible.

Security and fraud prevention. We monitor activity on the Service to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions, unauthorized access, abuse, and other harmful behavior.

Legal compliance. We may use and disclose your information as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, enforce our Terms of Service, or protect the rights, property, or safety of krowd, our users, or others.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the circumstances described below.

Service providers. We engage third-party companies and individuals to perform services on our behalf. These providers have access to personal information only as necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes. Key providers include:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing and subscription billing. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Twilio, Inc. — SMS and transactional messaging services used to deliver event reminders and notifications to attendees when enabled by organizers.
  • Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) — email delivery infrastructure for marketing and product communications sent by krowd. Organizers who use krowd's built-in email campaign feature may also route attendee communications through this provider.
  • Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers — we host the Service on infrastructure maintained by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States.

Business transfers. If krowd is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Service before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if we believe doing so is required by law or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of krowd, our users, or the public.

With your consent. We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

4. Attendee Data and Organizer Responsibilities

When you use krowd as an event organizer, you act as a data controller with respect to the personal information you collect from your attendees. krowd acts as a data processor on your behalf. You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to collect attendee information, that your registration forms comply with applicable privacy laws, and that you have disclosed to attendees how their data will be used.

We process attendee data only as instructed by you (the organizer) and as described in this policy and our Data Processing Agreement, which is available upon request at hello@krowdiq.com.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes (such as tax records or unresolved billing disputes), in which case we retain only what is necessary and for no longer than required.

Event data and attendee records associated with your account are retained for the duration of your subscription. Upon account closure you may export your data via the account dashboard before deletion is processed. Anonymized, aggregated data derived from your usage may be retained indefinitely.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and support marketing. For full details, including how to control cookies, please see our Cookie Policy.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR and Similar Laws

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive data protection laws, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • Access. The right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification. The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Erasure. The right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.

  • Portability. The right to receive your personal information in a structured, machine-readable format and to transmit it to another controller.
  • Objection. The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes.
  • Withdrawal of consent. Where processing is based on your consent, the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@krowdiq.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at hello@krowdiq.com.

10. International Data Transfers

krowd is based in the United States and we process data on servers located in the United States. By using the Service you acknowledge this transfer. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission for transfers of personal data from the EEA to the United States.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Service prior to the changes taking effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
